21st August (High School)

I went to the ginger beer factory. I learned about the history of ginger production in Australia and how to make ginger beer. I drank some ginger beer and thought Australian ginger beer is more spicy than Japanese so I like the Japanese one better. I also rode the boat and train attractions there. The ship attraction was very similar to It’s a Small World at Disneyland so it was fun but the train attraction was not fun. At the shop there, I bought a cup. I like the cup very much and I bought some apple juice. It was very tasty and I had never drunk such tasty apple juice.

After school, I went to a water fall and it was very beautiful but the water in the pool at the bottom was very cold so I couldn’t swim but my buddy’s brother swam. After that, I played soccer but I hurt my leg. In the evening, I watched a spy movie. 


It was a fun day.

We went to ginger factory today. We went there by school bus. The bus driver was speaking Australia English. It was a good opportunity to hear the local pronunciation. 


We rode a boat and Ginger Train at the Ginger Factory. It was fun to see the view around the ginger factory. 

We also saw how ginger is processed at the ginger factory. We could also buy souvenirs using the ginger there. I don't like ginger, so I didn't buy anything. But my buddy said the ginger cookies there were delicious. 


My buddy is going camping tomorrow, so I can't go to school with her. I am a little nervous.

I went to Ginger Factory in my school’s program. There, I rode a train and boat. The train is like a steam train. I could see a lot of small rainbow umbrellas, the ginger farm and beautiful view from the train. And I went to Ginger Factory. In there, the guide woman taught us about Ginger Factory's history. There was souvenir shop so I bought gummies and chews for my family and friends. The boat ride was like a “it’s a small world”. It was little scary for me, because it was a little old. I think it was one of the good experiences to know about Australia.


After,  I cooked Spanish food with my host mother and buddy. It was very delicious. I’m so happy about that.

  Today was a very busy but exciting day. In the morning, we climber Mount Coolum instead of going to the University. Mount Coolum is 208m tall. It is a short but challenging walk to the top. At the top we rested and ate morning tea. After that, we returned to school and joined a grade 9 Japanese class in which students were paired together and asked one another questions about life in their respective countries. After lunch, we visited the school farm and students joined the students who look after the   miniature horses there and learned ho to care for, lead and run with the horses. The local students were very friendly and helpful and the students had a great time. It was a great day. I went to the school. Nest, we took a bus. We arrived at a mountain. There was a stone road that we followed to the top of the mountain. We were very tired but the view we could see at the top of the mountain was very beautiful. 20th August (High School)

I woke up at 7 AM. When I woke up my host family were watching a rugby game on TV. They are from South Africa so they were cheering. At 8:30 AM, my host brother and sister took me on a canoe ride. From the boat, I could see lots of fish in the water and it was so much fun. After that, we went to Moooloolaba Beach. We walked on the beach and went to the shops there. We came back home at 5:00 PM. My host sister and brother taught me how to   ride an electric scooter and we went to see the view on the scooters.   In the evening, we watched Fast and Furious and ate steak for dinner. 23rd August (High School)

I went to school at 8:00. In the morning, we had a lesson on the history of hunting in Australia in English at the outdoor theatre. Then we went to the oval and watched the aboriginal man throw boomerangs. In the afternoon, I took classes with my buddy. I went to P.E class. There, we played rugby. It was very hot and hard work but it was a lot of fun. After returning home, we ate ramen noodles and snacks brought from Japan. I hope to enjoy the remaining day of the trip. H.Y (High School. Boy) I woke up at 6:00. I ate corn flakes for breakfast. I took a bus with my host sisters. My host sister who is in grade 5 went to school camp, so today is the last day that we can go to school together.   In the morning, we attended an aboriginal workshop- it was interesting.
