【JHS】15th August

It was the first class at NCC for junior high school students today. Everyone was struggling, but they were actively communicating in English. The class with my buddy's child was very difficult, but it was a good opportunity to communicate with my buddy's child. After school, we played basketball together. It was a lot of fun. Then, I ate tacos and watched a movie with my host family after returning home. We ate Japanese sweets together. They were very pleased. Tomorrow, we will go to the market and the beach. I'm looking forward to it.

When I woke up in the morning, I was asked "Did you sleep well?" I say "I can sleep very well. But it is too good for me to wake up. So I am sleepy." I usually sleep on the "shikibuton" in Japan. Shikibuton is a traditional Japanese mattress. but today I was sleeping on the bed. Shikibuton is comfortable but the bed is more comfortable.

Today's breakfast is croissants. It was very good. 

Today My host parents were busy so We had myhost sister Ginger's friend's mother take me to school. When I was entered the class there was a "morning tea 11:44 lunch 12:45". I thought " what is morning tea?". It is snack time. I was very surprised.

Today we went to NCC for the first time. so we were shown around school. First we went to the school library. There is a teacher that knows a lot about Japan. He says "Australia is very different from Japan. Japanese people cut an apple and eat it. But Australian people don't cut it and eat it.".

At the morning tea time I ate an apple that wasn't cutting. It is good.

At lunch time I ate lunch and played basketball.

After lunch I study with my buddy. His name is Thesath. He is from Sri Lanka. The class was science. I like science so it is fun. but I don't know many English words. so I felt that question was difficult. But when I understanded the meaning of a question using a dictionary, It was easy for me.

After school Ginger made dinner. I helped her. Today's dinner is steak. It is very very good. Our host family has rule to say the favorite thing that happened today  at dinner. I say "taking science class. I like science."

I like my host family. I will be able to sleep well today too.

On this day, we took a school class for the first time. The ESL class was a lot of fun. We took a buddy's class with my buddy. There was a time called "Morning Tea Time" and I was surprised to be able to eat something. I ate potato chips and fruits with buddy's friends. I went to see buddy's dance practice during lunch break. Everyone was flexible and very good at it.

After school, I went to the beach with Yuki. My host mother took me there. There were few people, and it was very beautiful beach. After that, we went to the supermarket. We bought a lot of fruits, bread, milk, vegetables, ham, and chocolate etc. It was very interesting because there were a lot of things that were not sold in Japan. We went home and played card games, origami, and Ayatori etc.

  Today was a very busy but exciting day. In the morning, we climber Mount Coolum instead of going to the University. Mount Coolum is 208m tall. It is a short but challenging walk to the top. At the top we rested and ate morning tea. After that, we returned to school and joined a grade 9 Japanese class in which students were paired together and asked one another questions about life in their respective countries. After lunch, we visited the school farm and students joined the students who look after the   miniature horses there and learned ho to care for, lead and run with the horses. The local students were very friendly and helpful and the students had a great time. It was a great day. I went to the school. Nest, we took a bus. We arrived at a mountain. 20th August (High School)

I woke up at 7 AM. When I woke up my host family were watching a rugby game on TV. They are from South Africa so they were cheering. At 8:30 AM, my host brother and sister took me on a canoe ride. From the boat, I could see lots of fish in the water and it was so much fun. After that, we went to Moooloolaba Beach. We walked on the beach and went to the shops there. We came back home at 5:00 PM. My host sister and brother taught me how to   ride an electric scooter and we went to see the view on the scooters.   In the evening, we watched Fast and Furious and ate steak for dinner. 23rd August (High School)

I went to school at 8:00. In the morning, we had a lesson on the history of hunting in Australia in English at the outdoor theatre. Then we went to the oval and watched the aboriginal man throw boomerangs. In the afternoon, I took classes with my buddy. I went to P.E class. There, we played rugby. It was very hot and hard work but it was a lot of fun. After returning home, we ate ramen noodles and snacks brought from Japan. I hope to enjoy the remaining day of the trip. H.Y (High School. Boy) I woke up at 6:00. I ate corn flakes for breakfast. I took a bus with my host sisters. My host sister who is in grade 5 went to school camp, so today is the last day that we can go to school together.   In the morning, we attended an aboriginal workshop- it was interesting.
