【JHS】18th August

 Today at school we had a presentation on Japanese culture.

Our group did a presentation on calligraphy. Since we had a little extra time during yesterday's practice, we made a quiz and other activities to fill it.

In the evening, we went to the beach with our host families and their friends.

After that, we went to see a basketball game where our host family and their friends were going to play.

We lost the game, but it was cool that she made three shots!

My breakfast this morning was bacon and eggs.Then, after breakfast, I got on the school bus and headed to school. Once we arrived at school, we went to the assembly point. After talking to my friends for a bit at the assembly point, we went to the classroom with my teacher Rachel.We learned about the Australian Dollar. We then went to Mr Evans in the library and introduced ourselves to some of the NCC students. Then we learnt about Australian food and ate sweets brought by Ms Rachel. 

After lunch, we gave a presentation on Japanese culture to the NCC students. (My group presented about Japanese washlet toilets.) After the presentation, we went back to our homestay and after a short rest,we headed off to the host family's boss Mr Will's place to have a games and Pizza night with Mr Evans who we met at the library.

Today, I communicated with an Australian student in ESL class by asking him a question. I was very happy that they listened to my questions and answered them.

In the afternoon, we had a presentation on Japanese culture. I was very nervous though I had prepared for it. Next is the presentation to the primary school, so I want to make it better. 

When I came home, I watched a movie about the children of the Villains called "Descendants". It was interesting to see how the kids looked a little bit like Villains.

After that, I and my host family split into three teams of young local kids to play various games. There were many Australian people I didn't know, but I was able to speak English.  I met Yoko and Eri on the way. We played games together.It was a lot of fun and I hope I can go again. For example, we played a game called Milkshake where we got food and drank a drink mixed with all of it. My team had a drink mixed with fish, tuna, onions, oreos and onions. It was not tasty.

I had a lot of fun today with all the things that happened from morning to night.

  Today was a very busy but exciting day. In the morning, we climber Mount Coolum instead of going to the University. Mount Coolum is 208m tall. It is a short but challenging walk to the top. At the top we rested and ate morning tea. After that, we returned to school and joined a grade 9 Japanese class in which students were paired together and asked one another questions about life in their respective countries. After lunch, we visited the school farm and students joined the students who look after the   miniature horses there and learned ho to care for, lead and run with the horses. The local students were very friendly and helpful and the students had a great time. It was a great day. I went to the school. Nest, we took a bus. We arrived at a mountain. There was a stone road that we followed to the top of the mountain. We were very tired but the view we could see at the top of the mountain was very beautiful. 20th August (High School)

I woke up at 7 AM. When I woke up my host family were watching a rugby game on TV. They are from South Africa so they were cheering. At 8:30 AM, my host brother and sister took me on a canoe ride. From the boat, I could see lots of fish in the water and it was so much fun. After that, we went to Moooloolaba Beach. We walked on the beach and went to the shops there. We came back home at 5:00 PM. My host sister and brother taught me how to   ride an electric scooter and we went to see the view on the scooters.   In the evening, we watched Fast and Furious and ate steak for dinner. 23rd August (High School)

I went to school at 8:00. In the morning, we had a lesson on the history of hunting in Australia in English at the outdoor theatre. Then we went to the oval and watched the aboriginal man throw boomerangs. In the afternoon, I took classes with my buddy. I went to P.E class. There, we played rugby. It was very hot and hard work but it was a lot of fun. After returning home, we ate ramen noodles and snacks brought from Japan. I hope to enjoy the remaining day of the trip. H.Y (High School. Boy) I woke up at 6:00. I ate corn flakes for breakfast. I took a bus with my host sisters. My host sister who is in grade 5 went to school camp, so today is the last day that we can go to school together.   In the morning, we attended an aboriginal workshop- it was interesting.
